The foods you would need to provide your body with the nutrients it needs each day

Most folks find it nearly impossible to eat all the right foods each day to get the nutrients their bodies truly need. When those nutrients are missing, the brain interprets that lack as hunger and sends the signal: “We need to eat.” Over time, this cycle can actually train your brain to expect constant eating—because it’s searching for the nutrition it never receives.

The problem is, we usually satisfy those cravings with processed foods packed with sugar, sodium, and chemicals that trick our taste buds but don’t nourish our cells. The brain feels rewarded temporarily, but the real nutritional need remains unmet. Gradually, your hunger cues become louder, more frequent, and less accurate—driving you to eat more calories than you need. Without enough movement to balance it out, weight gain becomes almost inevitable.

When I was a little boy, my mom used to tell me that if I didn’t clean my plate, all the boys and girls in China would starve. I never quite understood how finishing my mashed potatoes could help the children in China—but I took her words to heart and made sure my plate was spotless at every meal.

As the years went by, that simple habit trained my mind to believe that “cleaning my plate” was the right thing to do—whether I was hungry or not. Later in life, after I got married, my wife would lovingly say, “There’s plenty more in the kitchen; you might as well have seconds so I don’t have to put the leftovers away.” Being a good husband, I was happy to oblige.

Over time, my brain had learned to associate eating more with doing good—helping others, avoiding waste, and showing love. But those well-meaning patterns had consequences. By the time I turned 55, I weighed around 300 pounds. At just 5'4", I was clearly obese, and years of overeating and choosing the wrong foods had taken a serious toll on my health.

Have you felt the effects of eating the wrong foods day after day? Maybe you’ve gained weight, lost energy, or just don’t feel like yourself anymore. If so, you’re not alone — and it’s not too late to turn things around.

The truth is, when we feed our bodies the wrong fuel, our minds follow. We start believing the lie that we need more food, more comfort, more quick fixes — when what we really need is better nutrition and a fresh mindset. It’s time to break free from “stinkin’ thinkin’” and start craving the foods that bring health, energy, and life.

Real change starts with a “checkup from the neck up.” That’s what this blog is all about — helping you renew your thinking, rebuild healthy habits, and give your body what it truly needs to get well and stay well. Because when your mind changes, everything else follows.

And that’s where Trilogiii comes in. Trilogiii isn’t another diet or gimmick — it’s a common-sense approach to nourishing your body with the essential nutrients it’s been missing.
